2 min read

Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just clipping in for the first time, a guided group ride is one of the best ways to explore new routes, build confidence, and connect with a community that shares your passion. Here's everything you need to know about this week's ride — and how to make the most of every mile.

📍 This Week's Featured Route: The Wiltshire Rolling Hills Loop

Distance: 32 miles | Elevation: ~1,200 ft | Difficulty: Moderate

Starting from Winterslow village centre, this week's loop takes us through the stunning Wiltshire countryside — winding lanes, gentle climbs, and picture-perfect views. The route is perfect for cyclists looking to push their endurance a little further while enjoying the scenery.

🗺️ Route Highlights

  • Mile 0–8: Gentle warm-up through Winterslow and out towards Pitton — flat lanes, perfect for settling into your pace.

  • Mile 8–18: The main climb through the Clarendon Estate — expect a rewarding ascent with sweeping views at the top. Take your time!

  • Mile 18–26: Descent and rolling terrain through Farley and West Grimstead — this is where you can let the legs spin freely.

  • Mile 26–32: Return leg back to Winterslow — a familiar stretch to finish strong.

âś… What to Bring

  • Helmet (mandatory) and cycling gloves

  • At least 2 water bottles — hydration is key, especially on climbs

  • Energy gels or a small snack for mid-ride fuel

  • Puncture repair kit or mini pump

  • Layered clothing — Wiltshire mornings can be chilly even in summer!

đź’ˇ Top Tips for the Ride

  1. Pace yourself on the first half — it's easy to go out too hard. Save energy for the Clarendon climb.

  2. Ride in a formation — stay single file on busy sections and communicate with hand signals.

  3. Fuel before you're hungry — eat your snack around mile 15 to keep energy levels steady.

  4. No-drop policy — we ride as a group, so no one gets left behind. Our guides will set a sustainable pace.
