đźš´ This Week's Guided Ride: Routes, Tips & What to Expect
Whether you're a seasoned road cyclist or just getting started, guided rides are one of the best ways to explore new routes, stay motivated, and connect with fellow cycling enthusiasts. This week, we're spotlighting one of our favourite rides — perfect for all fitness levels looking for a mix of scenic countryside and satisfying challenge.
🗺️ Featured Route: The Wiltshire Wander (35 miles)
Starting from Winterslow, this stunning 35-mile loop takes you through the rolling hills of Wiltshire, past picturesque villages, open farmland, and quiet country lanes. With around 600m of elevation gain, it offers a fantastic blend of gentle climbs, fast descents, and flat stretches to recover.
📍 Route Highlights
Start/Finish: Winterslow Village Green — easy parking and a great café nearby for a post-ride brew!
Miles 1–10: Gentle warm-up through quiet lanes towards Pitton and Farley.
Miles 10–20: The heart of the ride — rolling climbs with breathtaking views across the Salisbury Plain.
Miles 20–28: Mid-ride regroup stop at Broughton village — a great spot to refuel and enjoy the views.
Miles 28–35: Fast, satisfying descent back into Winterslow — the perfect reward for your effort!
âś… What to Expect on a Guided Ride
New to group rides? Here's a quick rundown of how our guided rides work so you can arrive confident and prepared:
Pre-Ride Briefing: We gather 15 minutes before the start for a route overview, safety talk, and introductions.
Paced for the Group: We ride at a pace that keeps everyone together — no one gets left behind.
Regular Regroup Points: We stop at key points so the group stays together and everyone gets a breather.
Sweep Rider: An experienced rider at the back ensures no one is left behind if things get tough.
Post-Ride Social: The ride doesn't end at the finish line — we always head for coffee and cake together!
